Had a little ancestor, give us a moment

I was looking up at the medical team with a solemn face. I was in the space between the present and the ethereal, looking into her eyes, whispering, “Welcome, little ancestor.” I felt her warm body expand on my chest, full of awe. The trance kept breaking with questions and requests, touching from the medical team often pulling me away from that sacred first moment where mother and baby meet.
