Different expectations than mine

Twenty years ago, I had my first child, and eventhough I received first-rate care. I felt that the medical system was not necessarily focused on me as a person. I felt that they had expectations of me that were different from my own, because of my culture and beliefs. I felt that they knew nothing about me, and as a result, I felt I was treated differently.
